Does your system need flushing?
Our experienced and helpful staff are always happy to help.
Complete Gas Heating Services offer a full powerflushing service. Now, if you have never heard of this term before, you may be wondering what it is and why you might need it, so let us explain a little more about the process.
Essentially, powerflushing is what the name suggests: flushing out your central heating system under high pressure to get rid of the nasty stuff – sludge, rust, and anything else that may be clogging up your heating system and making it run less efficiently. After having your system powerflushed, you should see a marked improvement in performance, and as we all know, better performance will save you a shed load of cash in the longer term.
Reduction in hot water temperature over time the boiler overheats or completely shuts off the boiler or components such as pumps start to become noisy Individual radiators stop working or have large hot spots – perhaps only the top half warms up takes longer and longer for your radiators to warm up.
The process is particularly useful for older central heating systems, which tend to clog up really quickly.

At Complete Gas Heating Services we pH test all our systems before and after a powerflush or MagnaCleanse, this will tell us if the system is running smoothly as it should be with the right amount of chemicals. If the pH is incorrect then this could cause damage to the system components external and internal in the boiler.
Complete Gas Heating Services use Fluke thermal image cameras to detect radiator, boiler and pipework performance.
Another service Complete Gas Heating Services can provide is a MagnaCleanse, where powerflush isn’t available due to position of system, one pipe systems, micro ball, sensitive old systems, it can be left in position for as long as it requires while boiler is on.
1. Continually removes virtually all magnetite throughout the
cleaning process.
2. Cleaning remains concentrated in the system throughout the cleaning process.
3. System water remains heated during the cleaning process
giving faster and more effective clean.
4. Saves water – drain down only at the end of process.

Powerflushing is a deep clean for your central heating system. It uses specialist equipment to circulate water and cleaning chemicals at high flow rates, removing sludge, rust, limescale and other debris that can restrict circulation. A cleaner system helps improve heating efficiency, restores radiator performance and can help extend the lifespan of your boiler.
Yes. While powerflushing itself is a heating system cleaning process, it often involves working with your boiler and heating controls. All our powerflushing and MagnaCleanse work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, giving you peace of mind that your heating system is being worked on safely and professionally.
Yes. We carry out pH testing before and after every powerflush or MagnaCleanse to ensure the heating water has the correct chemical balance. We also check inhibitor levels, as incorrect water chemistry can lead to corrosion and damage to internal boiler components, radiators and pipework.
A powerflush uses specialist equipment to circulate cleaning chemicals around your heating system at high flow rates, making it ideal for removing heavy sludge from most systems. A MagnaCleanse is often recommended where a full powerflush isn’t suitable, such as with one-pipe systems, microbore pipework or older, more delicate heating systems. It uses powerful magnetic filtration to safely remove magnetic sludge while the heating system continues to operate.
In many cases, yes. Radiators that are cold at the bottom or have uneven heat distribution are often blocked with sludge and corrosion deposits. A powerflush removes these blockages, allowing hot water to circulate properly and helping your radiators heat up evenly again.
Yes. Older heating systems often contain more sludge and corrosion than newer installations, making them good candidates for powerflushing. Before starting, we’ll inspect your system to ensure it’s suitable and recommend the safest cleaning method for your heating system.
We use professional Fluke thermal imaging cameras to assess the performance of your radiators, boiler and pipework before and after the cleaning process. This allows us to identify cold spots, circulation issues and improvements in heat distribution, providing clear evidence of the results.
Most powerflushes take between 4 and 8 hours, depending on the size of your heating system, the number of radiators and how much sludge has built up. Larger or heavily contaminated systems may take longer. We’ll assess your system beforehand and let you know what to expect before any work begins.
If your radiators aren’t heating properly, your boiler is noisy or your heating system isn’t performing as it should, a professional powerflush or MagnaCleanse could restore its efficiency.
